Fast and simple large-surface inspection: A 3D laser scanner, the Absolute Scanner AS1-XL was created to satisfy the demands of new 3D scanning applications where increased productivity is crucial. When used with the Leica Absolute Tracker AT960 line of high-end laser tracker systems, the AS1-XL makes large-scale 3D digitization projects possible that were previously unachievable.
Automated large-surface inspection: The first 3D laser scanner for large-surface inspection that enables automated and self-governing measuring systems is the Absolute Scanner AS1-XL. The AS1-XL offers the possibility of autonomously collecting data from incredibly large parts in industries like aerospace and energy thanks to the flexibility offered by the WRTL wireless link accessory for the Leica Absolute Tracker AT960.
Scanline
Extra-wide scanline: The AS1-XL has a 600 millimeter extra-wide scan line at standoff distance. Because of this, it can easily handle huge surfaces, requiring far fewer scan passes across the part.
This improves operator speed and lessens fatigue when operating handheld. For automated operations, this translates into a shorter measurement process time and less complicated robot path planning.
Standoff
Large standoff: With a working range of plus or minus 300 millimeters on each side, the AS1-XL promises an unparalleled measurement standoff distance of 700 millimeters. This implies that a thorough inspection can be conducted up to one meter away from the 3D scanner.
Inspection into deep cavities and other concealed places where line-of-sight to the laser tracker is impossible is a major advantage of that massive standoff. Additionally, the AS1-XL’s huge standoff makes it easy to create robot courses that virtually ensure collision situations are avoided in automated inspection systems.
SHINE
SHINE technology: The newest Hexagon 3D laser scanner, the AS1-XL, is based on SHINE technology, which uses proprietary algorithms to produce exceptionally accurate, clean, and high-quality data while utilizing the scanner’s default settings.
The current series of Hexagon 3D scanners, which also includes the HP-L-10.10 and the Absolute Scanner AS1, deliver outstanding performance thanks to SHINE, or Systematic outstanding-Intelligence Noise Elimination.
With the AS1-XL, SHINE’s unparalleled data quality—even on difficult surface types and finishes—is now accessible in a device specifically designed for large-surface area assessment.
Modular
Modular installation:
Similar to the Absolute Scanner AS1, the AS1-XL is compatible with our Leica Absolute Tracker AT960 laser tracker systems and our Absolute Arm 7-Axis portable measuring arms due to its modular cross-platform design.
And that interoperability is almost instantaneous: with a simple switch flip, an AS1 or AS1-XL scanner unit may be removed and moved between referencing systems, and when it is remounted, no alignment is needed.
As needed, users can effortlessly switch between the AS1 and AS1-XL, allowing for both high-speed surface inspection and high-definition feature measurement to be completed efficiently in a single measurement session.
