A new way of 3D scanning: The SmartScan VR800 is revolutionary in the field of structured light scanning because it allows users to completely customize the measurement volume and data resolution through software settings. All of these features have the potential to transform the efficiency of optical 3D scanning quality inspection, even though they can be used in different processes.
Resolution where you need it: The VR800’s unique changeable resolution and coverage feature is made possible by four independent camera units and a mechanical zoom projector. This eliminates the requirement for optic exchange and recalibration by enabling the selection and smooth adjustment of the measurement volume size and level of detail within the inspection software in a matter of seconds.
Ease of use to simplify workflows: The multi-camera configuration of the VR800 creates previously unheard-of new workflow possibilities that streamline the process of measuring with an optical 3D scanner. There are advantages to combining multiple resolutions into a single project with nearly simultaneous data collection in terms of processing and analysis time as well as data acquisition speed.
Focus on the data you need: Processing inspection data has grown increasingly difficult and computationally demanding as inspection equipment have become more and more sophisticated. The VR800 allows the user to pinpoint the precise sections of the inspection object that are most important and concentrate high-resolution scanning only on those regions. The simultaneous alignment image capturing eliminates even scan overlaps.
Smart Resolution
The user can alter the data resolution while keeping the measurement volume constant thanks to the VR800 Smart Resolution feature.
The user can combine data in a single project and switch between six different software settings.
Each pair of cameras has three different resolution settings (5, 12, and 20 MP), with an X,Y resolution range of 238 to 49 microns.
Smart Zoom
With the VR800 Smart Zoom feature, the user can change the scanner’s measuring volume and resolution while preserving 5 million data points for fast processing.
Each camera pair has three of the six measuring volume possibilities. The smallest is 160 millimeters, and the largest is 800 millimeters; switching between them improves the X,Y resolution from 238 to 49 microns.
Smart Snap
With the VR800 Smart Snap feature, the multi-camera configuration operates differently, using all four digital camera units to gather orientation and scan data at the same time. With the use of an LED flash, target locations beyond the 3D scan region are captured and used to help the inner camera pair align the 3D scan data.
This combination speeds up the entire scanning process while also drastically lowering the number of targets needed and increasing the target measurement volume.
